Jersey Barnes Mystery
review 1: Jersey Barnes' retirement as a security specialist is temporarily put on hold - again- as her judge friend call in a favor to check up on her younger brother, Morgan, who has recently relocated to take over their parent's thriving restaurant after their deaths. Getting Morgan to trust her is like pulling teeth from a chicken, but when trouble gets too hot to handle, he turns to Jersey. Morgan confides in Jersey his suspicions about his parents deaths and the troubling conversations overheard at the Green Table. Blackmail, drugs, and humiliating secrets threaten to take the restaurant away unless Jersey can find the answers. With her partner-turned-over out of town, Jersey must rely on the help of DEA agent Brad. Sharing info never seems to flow both directions and she... more must trust her gut on how much to give to the alluring agent. Keeping her dad and his girlfriend out of trouble is just a side perk.I love this series and hope to see more. Jersey reminds me of Stephanie Plum, but she's far more capable and accomplishes everything without all the bed hopping. I missed Ox in this book, but her dad and girlfriend are a hoot! A quick and delightful read.
review 2: #3 Jersey Barnes series set in Wilmington, NC. Ox and Lindsay are away and Jersey must utilize the help of Brad, a DEA agent, to stop a drug ring and help three doctors and a restaurant owner. As usual, the exploits of Spud, Jersey's father, are comic relief. This is a quick read mystery with little depth. Again, this is like Janet Evanovich without the nasty language and constant sex. A great way to spend an afternoon. less

A little mystery, a little romance, a lot of humor! What I like to call an easy read!

Still a funny mystery, but don't know that it was as good as the first one.
