review 1: This turned out to be better than I expected. All Jackson wants is to enjoy life with the money he earned building his business from the ground up. The problem is that he doesn't want to share his money with his wife. If he divorces her she'll get half and there's no way he's going to share his wealth with a woman he hates. What to do? From the very first page I was hooked. This is a well-written novel with a protagonist that you'll love to hate. The author created a terrific character who is a self-centered, narcissist, egomaniac bastard. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. Not his wife, his kids, his friends or his mistress. You can't help but read on because when it rains it pours and Jackson doesn't seem to be catching any breaks and you can't wait to see what h... moreappens next. My only complaint would be how it ended. It felt a little abrupt. Otherwise this is a terrific and engaging story that I highly recommend.
review 2: Reading the story of Jackson Murphy is like driving by a train wreck -- you're immediately confronted with the uncaring, ruthless side of reality, and with every passing page, surprising complication and additional body, the view becomes both more repulsive and more fascinating. You will probably loathe this manipulative egomaniac, yet as the destruction in his wake turns into a tidal wave threatening to crush him, you'll surprise yourself wishing he had a lucky break. So prepare to be kept on the edge of your seat, balancing dangerously between curiosity and outrage, because whether you sympathize with Jack or hate his guts, one thing is certain: you won't be able to look away. less

good read but too much swearing. I don't like too much profanity, is not enjoyable.
