review 1: I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It is a quick & entertaining story. The characters are complex & the story is intriguing. The series is like a TV show, where you get to know and understand the characters over time. I especially liked that Ned changed his attitude toward Savannah, & I developed sympathy for him in “Independently Wealthy.” It was interesting to see his relationship with Savannah change, but it was done in a gradual, believable way. There are a lot of plot twists that I didn’t see coming. Also, the author really captures the New York & Washington, D.C. settings, & I loved reading about Manhattan during the holidays. I strongly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a page-turning read that has strong entertainment value with a lot of d... moreepth.
review 2: I received an Advance copy thru the Good Reads giveaway. Independently Wealthy is the second book in this series. It can be read out of order but it takes a bit to get caught up with the characters. Savannah Morgan is the illegitimate daughter of Edward Jones, the CEO of Stone news corporation. She received an inheritance of billions and has moved to New York to live. She has an older brother and sister and they are trying to build a relationship. She has just begun seeing her old boyfriend Alex. But the death of Edward haunts Savannah. She does not believe it was an accident and begins to dig into it more. Because of a scandal involving high political persons and accusations of deliberately poisoning a lake and the people who lived there, there are many people to look at as suspects. Was it Senator Caldwell who was having an affair with Edward or her husband because of the affair? Was it their son Wes, a handsome man who becomes involved with Savannah? This is a very well written book with twists and thrills, but also poignant moments between the newly involved siblings and friends. I enjoyed it so much that I am beginning to read New Money, the first book.re less

Fun read!A bit "after-school specially" if you know what I mean - but good beach read.
